It's a Small World

After this weekend this van will no longer be parked across the street from us. It’s the end of an era for our neighbour, Larry. He has surfed all his life and had a business shaping boards for people all over the world.

This past year Larry and his wife Susan retired, sold their home in California and moved to Guayabitos, but didn’t sell Larry’s “baby”. His van is equipped with everything one would need to take off on a surfing holiday to remote destinations.

Since his arrival here, Larry has had a bad back much of the time and hasn't been able to do much surfing without triggering another bout of pain. This week he decided to sell his van to his surfing buddy Colin, who just happens to live and operate his surfing business on the Alberni Highway in Qualicum Beach.

Today Larry drove to the airport in PV to pick up two young fellows from Nanaimo who Colin hired to drive the van back to QB.

The van will now be parked in Qualicum Beach rather than Rincon de Guayabitos.
