Panama came in first, Malta second, New Zealand third, Uruguay fourth and Mexico came in fifth with Puerto Vallarta ranking in second place and Sayulita and San Francisco ranking tenth of the ten best places in Mexico to retire.


Panama came in first for the sixth year running. This probably has something to do with the fact that they offer a long list of perks to anyone moving to Panama with a minimum monthly pension of $500 (plus another $100 per dependent).
